2017 Request for Applications

The Justus-Warren Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Task Force is currently accepting applications for issues to consider in the development of its Action Agenda for the 2018 legislative session. The Task Force invites you to submit an application for Task Force consideration. The Task Force makes recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly regarding changes to laws and regulations in order to prevent and manage heart disease and stroke in North Carolina. Through this application process, the Task Force receives requests from groups that seek to propose an evidence-driven issue for Task Force consideration during the 2017-2018 meeting cycle. This application will be reviewed by the Task Force which may request additional information. If the issue is accepted for Task Force consideration, it will then be examined by Task Force work groups that will determine which issues to bring to the full Task Force in the form of proposed recommendations. Recommendations approved by the full Task Force become part of the Task Force Action Agenda.

Please follow the application directions and list of evidence-based prevention strategies posted. Applications are due by 5 PM August 30, 2017. Direct questions to Anna Bess Brown at or 919-707- 5361.

Thank you for your interest. We look forward to hearing from you and to collaborating on heart health.
